I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, and a Senior Researcher at the Center for Policy Research.
My research fields of interest are public, labor, health, and behavioral economics. My research explores broad themes related to health and productivity, taxation and redistribution, and social and private insurance. Specific research projects examine the effects of health on labor supply, productivity, marriage, and disability benefit receipt as well as the effects of disability benefits on labor supply and health behavior. More recently, my research focuses on the economics of occupational safety and health.
I received a Ph.D. in economics at the University of Maryland and a B.S. in finance at the University of Illinois.
